The CCHN Specialized Workshop will explore the major challenges and dilemmas faced by frontline humanitarian organizations when negotiating in favor of a dignified return of refugee and displaced populations. Drawing heavily on the CCHN Field Manual on Frontline Humanitarian Negotiation, the Workshop will review a series of advanced negotiation tools and methods for humanitarian professionals who seek to ensure and implement protection modalities related to the return of refugee and displaced populations in the Middle East and other regions.
The CCHN Specialized Workshop further seeks to foster the creation a dedicated circle of humanitarian professionals in the region organized around this theme. This informal circle will discuss over the coming year the latest challenges and dilemmas pertaining to these negotiations, share negotiation experiences in their context, consider the elaboration of new tools to address some of these challenges as well as provide peer-to-peer support .
The workshop is open to humanitarian professionals who have previously attended a CCHN peer workshop (i.e. Advanced Regional or Induction Workshop in Byblos or other locations).
A cost-recovery fee of USD 240 is required from all participants as to ensure the sustainability of the Specialized Workshop Program. This fee covers all the instruction, material, conference rooms, lunches and coffee breaks during the two-day event.
