Peer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation

25 June 2019 - 27 June 2019

This three-day workshop aims to develop participants’ capacity to analyze the humanitarian negotiation environment they work in and improve their ability to plan multi-stakeholder negotiation processes. It will introduce participants to practical negotiation tools and methods elaborated on the basis of the latest empirical research conducted by the Centre of Competence on Humanitarian Negotiation.

  • Strategic planning and critical thinking in complex environments
  • Conflict analysis and network assessment
  • Planning and evaluating negotiation processes
  • Setting priorities in frontline negotiations

Selection criteria

This workshop is designed to serve the needs of humanitarian professionals with a minimum of 3 years of field experience. It is open to national and international staff of humanitarian organizations based in the region.

Learning pathway

This workshop prepares participants for more specialized CCHN activities, such as the Training of Facilitators, the Peer Circles Program and other advanced workshops. These specialized activities regularly take place in regional hubs around the world.
