As part of its objectives for 2019, the CCHN is committed to supporting frontline negotiators from Yemen. After conducting a listening tour and desk research, we hosted a Peer Workshop and a Specialized Session on Negotiating Humanitarian Access in Yemen in Amman, Jordan in September 2019.
Only a few weeks after the first Atelier de Négociation Humanitaire (French for Peer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation) in Senegal, the CCHN organized another negotiation workshop in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic Congo (DRC) from 10 – 12 September 2019. The event marked an important milestone in the development of the CCHN’s community of frontline negotiators in francophone Africa.
As part of its objectives for 2019, the CCHN seeks to build negotiation capacity of humanitarian organizations operating in West Africa. Against this background, it hosted a Peer Workshop from 26-28 August 2019 in Dakar, Senegal.
In response to requests from regional offices of the Strategic Partners in Latin America, the CCHN organized a Peer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation (Taller de Negociación Humanitaria) in Bogota, Colombia from 12-14 August 2019. Participants who wished to dive deeper into the learning methodology could further attend a Training of Facilitators (Capacitación para Facilitadores).
The Centre of Competence on Humanitarian Negotiation (CCHN) is continuously looking for new ways to engage members of its global community of frontline negotiators. Following the Peer Workshop in Douala, Cameroon it hosted a live session to reconnect with participants and learn more about how they apply the CCHN tools in their daily work.
The CCHN held its first Peer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation in Dohuk, Iraq from 30 July to 1 August 2019. The workshop provided a unique opportunity for the exchange of negotiation experiences among field practitioners in Iraq.
