WHAT ARE THE SELECTION REQUIREMENTS?

  • You should have worked as a humanitarian professional or interpreter in the field for at least 3 years (either as national or international staff);
  • You should have experience working in the Middle East.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

After this session you will be able to:

  • Understand why it’s crucial that negotiators and interpreters work as a team.
  • Know how to talk about expectations and assumptions, and set clear boundaries for your role in the negotiation as an interpreter and negotiator.
  • Follow a complete checklist to prepare together before a negotiation.

WHAT IS THE EVENT FORMAT?

This workshop consists of two sessions over the course of half a day, with the following schedule (Geneva time):

Part 1: 9:00 am to 10:30 am (CEST)
Part 2: 10:45 am am to 12:30 pm (CEST)

Please note: Our workshops are based on the sharing of participants’ negotiation experiences. You will be invited to switch on your computer camera and microphone and to (confidentially) share your own stories with the group as a basis for discussion and learning.
