According to the latest report from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Bank — Tracking Universal Health Coverage: 2017 Global Monitoring Report, half of the world population still lacks access to essential healthcare services. Therefore, humanitarians have worked hard to provide access to healthcare services and assistance to vulnerable populations, like Stephanie Ferland, ICRC Political Advisor who recounted one of her experiences from the frontline.
Apart from negotiating the access, Stephanie was able to build a relationship with actors in the area to maintain the access in a longer term. She used Stakeholder Mapping tools which you can find within the Naivasha Grid to solve this complex situation.
