The CCHN is pleased to announce the launch of its first-ever Online Advanced Humanitarian Negotiation Workshop, taking place from July 14-16, 2025. This workshop will help you consolidate your previous learning while acquiring advanced skills and tools to plan, manage, or evaluate humanitarian negotiations. You will delve deeper into the behavioral aspects of negotiation through CCHN tools, applying them to context-specific scenarios.

👉 NB: The CCHN cannot cover the travel or accommodation costs of participants.

⚠️ This workshop is only open to CCHN Community Members who have previously attended a CCHN Peer Workshop.

WHAT ARE THE SELECTION REQUIREMENTS?

  • To participate, you must have previously attended a CCHN Peer Workshop. If you haven’t, you can register for one of our upcoming events here.
  • This workshop is open to both national and international staff of humanitarian organizations and is entirely free of charge.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

Advanced Humanitarian Negotiation Workshops tackle different topics over three days:

  • Day 1: The Negotiation Mandate and the Art of Compromise
  • Day 2: Understanding Your Interlocutor, Listening, and Communicating Effectively
  • Day 3: Navigating Negotiations and Building Trust

The Advanced Humanitarian Negotiation Workshop is based on the sharing of the participants’ negotiation experience and simulations. You will be asked to (confidentially) share your negotiation stories with the group as a basis for joint discussion and exercises.

WHAT IS THE EVENT FORMAT?

Self-Paced Learning (June 30 – July 13)

Prior to the workshop, participants will complete a compulsory self-paced and self-managed learning phase. This phase includes reading articles, watching videos, and reflecting on negotiation dilemmas and concepts, preparing you for the interactive workshop sessions.

Face-to-Face Online Sessions (July 14 – July 16)

The workshop will feature three days of live sessions, each consisting of two two-hour sessions, based on the below schedule (Geneva Time):

  • Day 1 (Monday, July 14): 08:30 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 13:30
  • Day 2 (Tuesday, July 15): 08:30 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 13:30
  • Day 3 (Wednesday, July 16): 08:30 – 10:30 and 11:30 – 13:30

The participants who attend all the sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion.
