Event Details

The CCHN and IOM are organising a 3-day Advanced Humanitarian Negotiation Workshop for humanitarian staff working on the Northwest Syria response. This Onsite Applied Negotiation Workshop aims to develop the capacity of CCHN community members in planning and conducting negotiations in humanitarian contexts in Northwest Syria. It will introduce advanced methods and tools to participants, based on the latest CCHN research. This workshop is only open to CCHN Community Members who have previously attended a CCHN Peer Workshop. If you have not yet completed a Peer workshop, please register to one of our upcoming events here.

In this workshop the participants will build on their knowledge of the Naivasha grid and learn advanced negotiation tools and techniques to plan and execute humanitarian negotiations. Based on case studies based on current humanitarian practice in 2022, the Advanced Humanitarian Negotiation Workshop focuses specifically on defining red lines in complex negotiations and communication skills.

The workshop is highly interactive: we invite participants to share their own experiences, discuss, join simulation exercises and learn from each other’s expertise. This event is organised by the Center of Competence on Humanitarian Negotiation, a joint initiative of five humanitarian agencies (ICRC, MSF, UNHCR, WFP and HD Centre) in collaboration with IOM.
