10feb(feb 10)9:00 am12(feb 12)5:00 pmPeer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation (Onsite) | Humanitarian Health Actors in Sudan

Event Details

The ongoing violence in Sudan has caused widespread destruction, displacement, and a profound humanitarian crisis that is severely straining medical services. Health facilities have been damaged, with over two thirds of all main hospitals in affected areas being out of service. Moreover, many health professionals have fled or are unable to work, and there is an acute shortage of essential medicines, equipment, and personnel. The situation is further compounded by difficulties in accessing conflict zones, placing immense pressure on health actors to respond with limited resources.

This onsite Peer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation aims to support humanitarian health actors operating in Sudan in planning and conducting negotiations on the ground. By joining the workshop, you will learn how to analyse the environment in which the negotiation takes place, identifying the role and influence of stakeholders involved, and put in place different strategies to achieve your negotiation objectives. You will also familiarise yourself with some practical tools and methods to support your negotiation process.

What does “Peer Workshop” mean?

Our workshops are not delivered by lecturers; they are based on the sharing of experiences among peers, with the support of our facilitators and experts. We invite you to discuss your own negotiation experiences to learn from and with each other. The workshops are highly interactive: our facilitators split participants into smaller discussion groups of 5-7 people. We encourage you to listen to others and reflect together on the many challenges of frontline negotiations.
