Event Details

The migratory and refugee situation in Ukraine continues to be severe. Over 6.5 million people have fled the country as refugees, with a further 3.5 million becoming internally displaced (IDPs). As the conflict continues well into its third year, the humanitarian needs are escalating, making coordinated efforts essential to address the growing displacement crisis.

Consequently, in order to discuss the current migratory and refugee landscape, as well as associated challenges and dilemmas in negotiating humanitarian outcomes on the ground, the CCHN set to organise a Thematic Session focused on the Migration & Refugee Response in Ukraine. The session will also address the humanitarian dynamics linked to displaced Ukrainians currently being hosted in neighbouring countries, notably Poland and Moldova, considering that both countries have received 1.6 million and 800,000 refugees respectively.
