Building Capabilities of Frontline Humanitarian Negotiators in the Gulf Countries

This Online Peer Workshop on Frontline Humanitarian Negotiation aimed to exchange good negotiation pratices and stregthen the negotiation capacities of the Oman Charitable Organization, different Omani charities, the International Federation of Red Cross and Crescent Societies (IFRC), Red Crescent National Societies of the Gulf Countries and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). It was also a great opportunity to establish a long-term partnership between the IFRC, CCHN and ICRC in the Gulf region.

Training Practitioners and Academics on Humanitarian Negotiation

Before the COVID-19 measures were tightened, CCHN managed to organize a Peer Workshop on Humanitarian Negotiation in Amman, Jordan on 25-27 February 2020. It included 27 participants, a few of them working in the academic sector. This workshop took place after we had launched the new Training of Facilitators curriculum in two trainings at the end of January and the beginning of February.

New Curriculum for the CCHN Training of Facilitators Programme

Starting in 2020, the Training of Facilitators (ToF) programme has a new curriculum designed to give facilitators a deeper understanding of the CCHN negotiation tools and methods so that they can better pass on that knowledge. The new curriculum is the result of recommendations made in a professional consultation, held in Caux, Switzerland, in June 2019, with members of the CCHN’s community of practice.
