WHAT ARE THE SELECTION REQUIREMENTS?
- You should be a member of the CCHN Community of Practice and have completed a CCHN Peer Workshop.
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
We structure the workshop’s program around the content of the CCHN Field Manual on Frontline Humanitarian Negotiation. By the end of the workshop, you will have learned:
- Pressure management methods, tools, and theory,
- To prepare yourself before pressure,
- To react to pressure in the best possible way,
- To recover from the pressure.
The methodology includes some very practical exercises for self-management: physical movements, breathing techniques, and relaxation.
We also look at some aspects of communication and trust building under pressure and with difficult counterparts.
WHAT IS THE EVENT FORMAT?
This workshop consists of 9 hours of content in total, delivered over the course of 3 days with the following schedule:
Times are in Geneva time (CEST), check your corresponding time here.
Day 1 (Thursday 8 May): 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Introduction and prepare before
Day 2 (Thursday 15 May): 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Manage pressure during the stressful situation
Day 3 (Thursday 22 May): 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM – Recover after pressure
❗️Some physical exercises will be practiced; you should be in a suitable environment to move and interact.
To receive a certificate of completion, you will be required to attend at least 80% of the workshop.
Please note: Our workshops are based on the sharing of participants’ negotiation experiences. You will be invited to switch on your computer camera and microphone and to (confidentially) share your own stories with the group as a basis for discussion and learning.
